Botanicals

As is well known, gin is an alcoholic beverage named for the juniper berries used in its production. For NÉSOS Gin, this juniper base is complemented by the addition of four botanicals:

Myrtle

Myrtle, with its dark berries and aromatic leaves, imparts a rich and intense fragrance to NÉSOS Gin. This plant, a symbol of Mediterranean lands, infuses the gin with sweet and slightly resinous notes, evoking pristine and wild landscapes. Additionally, myrtle offers benefits for pulmonary conditions.

Helichrysum

Helichrysum, also known as the "sunflower," enriches NÉSOS Gin with its warm and balsamic aroma. Its sweet and floral notes, reminiscent of honey and curry, add a complex and captivating dimension to the gin, evoking the warmth of the sun and golden fields. Additionally, helichrysum offers benefits for allergies and colds.

Thyme

Thyme, with its small aromatic leaves, adds a touch of freshness and liveliness to NÉSOS Gin. Its herbal and slightly spicy notes evoke sea breezes and rocky coastal paths, giving the gin a bold and refreshing character. Additionally, thyme offers antiseptic and antibacterial benefits.

Paccasassi

Paccasassi, or sea fennel, is a rare and precious plant that grows on rocky coasts. Its succulent and crunchy leaves give NÉSOS Gin a unique and unmistakable flavor, with saline and citrus notes that evoke the sea and the freshness of the waves. Additionally, paccasassi offers digestive and purifying benefits.

The recipe that defines NÉSOS Gin was developed through an in-depth study of the organoleptic characteristics of these botanicals, complemented by the islanders' stories about the beneficial principles of the botanicals passed down from their ancestors.

Finally, an island as beautiful and magical as Marettimo deserves a bottle that is anything but ordinary. Instead of the usual bottle with an adhesive label, NÉSOS Gin comes in a bottle with a design engraved on the glass. This reflects how the people of the island have etched the beauty and essence of Marettimo into their hearts and souls.
